Just to add further default is 5. But if you set other parallel parameters
like
parallel_adaptive_multi_user TRUE
parallel_automatic_tuning TRUE
it exceeds max_parallel_server limit in init.ora...

The default is the default set in your init.ora for parallel_max_servers.
If you don't have it set explicitly it will default and you can find the
value by checking v$parameter.
