Arslan, Since you are on 8.1.7, have you considered using the ALTER TABLE ... MONITORING feature? This will create entries in DBA_TAB_MODIFICATIONS detailing the estimated DML on the tables involved along with a Timestamp. This will enable you to estimate the required frequency...
