alter database clear logfile group 1; alter database open; may help you...
----- Original Message ----- To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2002 3:28 PM Hi everybody, This all started with the halon firing in our data center last night around 10pm so you can imagine my condition. I lost a disk that contained only redo logs. When I try to open the database I get ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 1 of thread 1 ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: 'F:\ORACLE\ORADATA\OWBREPOS\REDO01.LOG' ORA-27041: unable to open file OSD-04002: unable to open file I thought what I needed to do was switch the log files, drop the members that are on the bad disk, and then I'd be able to open the database. So I mounted the database and did alter system switch logfile; and its telling me ORA-01109: database not open I thought I could swicth logfile with the database mounted? Could someone suggest the right steps I should take to recover?
