I know this has been mentioned on the list before, but for my sanity check, will this
Hot Backup Method work?
1) Alter system archive log current ; not really needed but can't hurt.
2) Check backup status.
3) Generate datafile listing to be used by step 5.
4) Alter tablespace <tablespace_name> begin backup ;
5) Some other process,script,legato,etc. will copy database file(s)
to disk or to tape.
6) Alter tablespace <tablespace_name> end backup ;
7) Alter system archive log current ; really needed but before or after backup
controlfile?
8) Backup controlfile.
