I would export your 8i database using your export utility from 8i. Then
Import the dump file into your 9i database using the import utility from 9i.

Either will work. Oracle 9i for NT actually comes with 90111 on the CD.
Patches fix bugs, but often introduce new bugs as well. It is a question of
getting a stable patch. (And I don't know what is stable).

We are going to 9i on our NT4.0 SP6 prod box. I will test the 9i install on
a test box first. My question is: Do I need to install a patchset with
9.0.1.0.0 or can I run as is? If I run the catexp from 9i into 8i (as SYS)
and export I will be able to import into 9i, correct? Any advice is highly
appreciated.

thanks,
