Hi,
I tried to create a public synonym for a table in schema "inventory", but
it
does not seem to be working, i.e., when I connect as another user, and try
to select from the synonym it says table or view does not exist.
I would appreciate any help.
Aleem
Following are the commands from SQL*Plus:
SQL> connect inventory/invent@test_server
<mailto:inventory/invent@test_server>
Connected.
SQL> create public synonym company for company;
Synonym created.
SQL> connect scott/tiger@test_server <mailto:scott/tiger@test_server>
Connected.
SQL> select * from company;
select * from company
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
SQL> select * from inventory.company;
select * from inventory.company
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
