I'm working with a program that accesses a table with a LONG datatype. The program was originally written to manipulate a VARCHAR2(60) with instr and substr functions. The language (SQR) allows me to dump the info into a variable and supposedly work with it, but it won't compile. Does anyone know of a work around to dice up a LONG?
