Yup, I think that's the simplest way to do it. The one I often use is this: select count(object_name) from all_objects where object_type like 'JAVA%' and status='VALID';
It should return several thousand objects. When Oracle docs refer to java being 'enabled' in the database they really only mean 'have the objects been loaded and are they valid?'.
