Dear list ! It's an Oracle 8.0.5 on Win NT question: We want to put our database server behind a firewall. The problem is the clients that need to connect to our DB from the "outer world". Now , i know that the Oracle listener can choose any port when passing the connection to the Oracle server. That means , that theoretically all the ports should be open on the firewall in order to allow client connections. Sounds illogical. So, is there a way to limit the ports range used by the listener when passing the connections to the Oracle server ? I do not want to use "connection manager" etc..
thanks a lot !
