Running in noarchivelog mode is the same as accepting the possibility of the loss of all data since the last backup - which sounds like a week of data in your case.
If you're happy with that (?), then just shutdown the db each friday and copy evertying (including the redo logs) off to tape. If you're not happy with that (if I was a user, I would not be happy with a week's lost data), then you'll need to be in archivelog mode.
