Matt, Do not alter the LOG_ARCHIVE_DUPLEX_DEST parameter online. Altering a parameter that uses a / in its value will cause problems doing selects on v$parameter table see document 136791.1. I ran into this issue and had to bounce both instances to resolve the issue. Bryan
