Well, I live in the Netherlands and if you start working in amsterdam, make sure that: 1) you make 75K-100K euro at least 2) you get your house paid for (watch out for the tax on that) 3) you don't buy a car in amsterdam, assuming that work/home can be reached with public transport 4) you live close to the redlight district (so much police and tourist around, it must be safe) 5) you get a dutch girlfriend ;-)
