this tell oracle to use the index. (It must be able to use it, or it will

Hello all,
I know that in RDBMS, the where condition takes care of which index
to be taken into consideration while executing a query...But is there a way
for the developer/programmer to specify a index number ?? Just for
Information purpose.. If not in oracle , any way in sql server ??
