is hard to beat, one of my favorites.

Another of my favorites is "A Practical Guide to Logical Data Modeling" by 

George Tillman.  This must be the most quotable technical book I have 
ever read.  Favorite quote (paraphrased):  "There is a need for data 
modelers
because developers are so bad at designing files and databases."

Richard Barker's "Case*Method: Entity Relationship Modellin" is on many a 
DBA shelf, mostly
because Oracle used to include it with their modeling class.  Maybe they 
still do.
A good book, nonetheless.
