I'm looking at the NetApp install procedure for 9i RAC and it says that $ORACLE_HOME is not to be shared across the cluster nodes. Why? Is this really impossible? I understand that the files under the $ORACLE_BASE/admin/ORACLE_SID/?dump directories (and other files) should not be shared but is there any REAL reason the executables can't be shared? Has anyone done this on NetApp? Curious.
