This is how much redo has been generated. You’ll probably find (I think it’s v$thread) that you’ve switched redo logs about 221 times (probably more) since your instance startup.

Subject: Redolog size question?

Hi Gurus,

Can some one explain me about my redo size here please? - my redo files size are 50M and the query below shows me 11Gb.

SQL> select name,value from v$sysstat
2  where name in ('redo size', 'physical reads', 'db block gets')
  3  /

NAME                                        VALUE
-------------------- ----------------------------
db block gets                          92,422,816
physical reads                        378,518,865
redo size                          11,613,542,316

Many thanks in advance.

Jonny
