If you just want a numeric field of 10 positions

field                pic 9(10).  --> 10 numeric positions 0123456789
field                pic 9(10)V99 --> 10 numeric positions plus 2 decimals
0123456789.12

in your definition
   s means sign field
   comp-5 means a compressed field.
