Uh oh ... read this yesterday on Metalink the version part I don't remember, but in that case if your PK is compressed, Oracle wouldn't return ORA-00001 error ... that's scary.

I tried using compress in the past and ran into a bug with "and_equal"
access paths. You'd get ORA-600's. I think it was 8.1.7.2 on Win2k.
don't know if it's been fixed.
