Finally, I have figured out a Freeware Hex editor at http://www.hhdsoftware.com/hexeditor.html. Using this freeware, I could open Oracle data files (while database is shutdown) and corrupt them (for testing, of course).   1. BBED (Block Editor) did not work as I do not have password. I believe only Oracle support will have this password. 2. We can't corrupt/ alter the data files on Windows, because Oracle.exe locks these files, while database is open.   I have developed a script to alert me of corruptions, which I have started using right now.
