First major issue encountered, ora-600, due to the use of the overflow. Here are some comments from the Oracle analyst working the TAR:
************************* "We are failing as we are working with frames. There is a limit to the number of frames in 8i, so it is possible to run out--if the insert into an IOT (with an overflow clause) is large enough. From the developer's comments, there is a hard-wired value that they assumed to be large enough ( in 99.99% of the cases). You happen to fall into that one in ten thousand that has an insert large enough to run out of frames in an IOT. Unfortunately, this problem was not able to be addressed in this 8i, but is supposed to be in 9i. The problem with the frames seems associated with the overflow, without it the IOT should work. The partitioned table is going to use a bitmap somewhere, so that could cause a frame problem-- but you would see it right away on the first insert." ************************* I don't recognize the term "frames" he is using, going to have to do some digging on that (or ask the analyst if he cares to explain, though that really doesn't change anything).
