No, you need to install the development tools,
as per my previous email.

It appears that you didn't install the Linux development tools.

Run the pkg manager, and install the dev tools. ( cc, ar, ld, etc )

Subject: Unable to load shared libraries libskgxp8.o

Hi All,

After installing oracle on Red Hat 8.0, when I try to run svrmgrl, I get
the
eror
failed to load shared libraries libskgxp8.so. LD_LIBRARY_PATH and
SHLIB_PATH
both are
set to $ORACLE_HOME/lib.

After looking up this error on Metalink, it seems to be a linking error.

I did the following.

make -f ins_rdbms.mk install from $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/bin and get the
following messages:u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/rdbms/lib/ksms.o
/bin/sh: line 1: cc: command not found
/usr/bin/ar: config.o: No such file or directory
make: *** [/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7/rdbms/lib/config.o] Error 1

I also tried relink all and I get errors while linking ott.

Please help.

Sumathy
