on the machine where the database is installed, you can login as CONNECT
INTERNAL, and it won't prompt for the password.

the environment variable ORACLE_SID should be pointing to the concerned DB's
SID.

Connect as internal, shutdown the database and then recreate the password
file using ORAPWD.

Thanks Naveen for suggestions, but by the way what do you mean 'connect
internal' via sqlplus and check the value of ORACLE-SID, you mean that we
can enter into database by using 'INTERNAL' user without password, don't you
?
