    Unless your the application developer there is nothing you can do. 
Deadlocks are always an application error.

Hi
I have been noticing some times following error with one table during 
update.

DEADLOCK DETECTED
Current SQL statement for this session:
"The following deadlock is not an ORACLE error. It is a
deadlock due to user error in the design of an application
or from issuing incorrect ad-hoc SQL. The following
information may aid in determining the deadlock:"

Is chaning of INITTRANS would help ?
