The reason I ask is because people around me always blame Oracle when things stop working.
Anyways, the problem was traced to a corrupted Oracle database (as to whether the tables or the data file got corrupted. how and why - a $$$ consultant is trying to find out). How could an Oracle database get corruppted in the first place?
