sys.filext$ has to be joined to to the dba_data_files view. however, if no tablespace has ever been put into autoextend mode, filext$ won't exist.
what I've done in the past to ensure the queries will work is to put a datafile into autoextend mode (this creates filext$), then take it out. filext$ is not dropped once created, even if there are no rows in it. then you can do the join. If a datafile is IN filext$, it is set for autoextend --- Sam Bootsma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > We are running Oracle 7.3.4.5.0 on an IBM/AIX RISC System/6000: > Version > 2.3.4.0.0. > > > > I know there is SQL that allows setting a data file to auto extend. > I > am trying to find out where in the data dictionary you can find out > whether a data file is set to auto-extend or not.
