You could upgrade to ver 9 where there is an elapsed
time column in v$sql - very very nice.

In ver 8, run some queries of your own to get a
reasonable figure on how many disk reads and buffer
reads you can do per second.  Then look at the
buffer_gets and disk_reads for each sql in v$sql to
get a rough estimate.
