Alternatively you can move the entire table to a new tablespace (not
sharing two tablespaces, but entirely relocated) using the syntax:

alter table <blah> move tablespace <new_tablespace>;

This will online relocate the table, you can move the indexes as well but
you must do that individually for each index - look at the syntax for
altering indexes (in particular look at online rebuilding).

Regards,
     Mark.

Roland,
 If the table is already established and you want the next extents to
be in a different datafile then you can force that situation. Onca a
table was been created in a perticular tablespace I don't know of a way
to split the table across multiple tablespaces other that partitioning.

To force the table to use another datafile you have to add the
additional datafile and then resize the original datafile to a minimal
size and the next extent will be in the additional datafile.
You could also look into ALTER TABLE foobar ALLOCATE_EXTENT clause.
