i get trouble using the supplying standard package of oracle 8.1.7 for jdbc2.0 support! , i'm trying to write a standard code that could be available for any database, and i don't want to use oracle BLOB datype,but instead the standard Blob java datatype..
here is the code i'm trying to execute, is it correct? can somebody write to me please, a sample code with Blob instead of BLOB?:

db = DBBroker.getInstance().getConnection();
con = db.getConnection();
stmt = con.createStatement();
...
java.sql.Blob blob =(java.sql.Blob) rset.getBlob("FILE_ATTACHMENT");

OutputStream outstream = (OutputStream)blob.setBinaryStream(blob.position(blob,1));

...... ----END of code

the application has a problem when executing the second instruction (OutputStrem......)

thank you very much for your precious help ..
