Sorry, I misunderstood. I would be happy to see Oracle's pricing policies adjusted accordingly when MySQL becomes more enterprise worthy.
Interestingly enough, they are aggresively pricing some products so they can generate revenue from new licenses. Just attended a lunch n learn today for Oracle Collaboration Suite. The pricing is aggresive ( I forgot already how much ). The real surprise was that the OCS license included the database licensing. Want RAC? When used for OCS, it's $60 per user, significantly less than the off the RACk pricing. Meanwhile SAP folks are saying this partnership gives MySQL customers a robust enterprise alternative. Open source hype and "co-opetition?" SAP's motivation for SAP DB is to provide a low cost alternative to Oracle, that sentiment is widely shared and gaining traction. Time to selling my Oracle stock? Though both want to make a profit ( and rightly so ) SAP doesn't seem to have the same mercenary mentality that MS has.
