During a recent tar I was told by an Oracle tech that Oracle windows installs done by a domain user (versus local user) would not be supported by Oracle. We used the domain acct (which is also an administrator on the machine)so that it could see the tns_admin directory on the network. We have not had any problems with the software as a result. The box is w2k, Oracle 8.1.7.4.
Do most people use local accts? Are there any other reasons for using/not using a domain acct? Thanks.
