HI All, OS: Solaris 2.8 DB: 9i After 9i installation, I see the following entry in ORATAB (that started with * ). Why installtion creates such entries. *:/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.3:N Is this required for oracle ? or is this going to do some harm for any programs that use oratab ? should we delete such entries that starts with '*' ? We already have correct entries in the oratab for all instances like: findb:/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.3:Y Thanks in advance, Srinivas
