Listener password failures do not lock the password, unfortunately; but it is possible to identify the failed logins. The listener log shows entries similar to the lines below
05-JUL-2003 21:14:39 * services * 1169 TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password Note the lines "TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password ", which could mean as simple as a fat fingered DBA or repeated attempts to break in. As a rule of thumb, I scan TNS-01169 errors and review them periodically. HTH.
