Hi! You can find RMAN docs from tahiti.oracle.com for example. You can quite easily clone a database with it.
Anoteher, possibly harder way exists as well - you could copy your Oracle "datafiles" from raw devices to your filesystem using dd. But you have to find out whether your datafiles were created starting from 1st block of your raw device or not - find out what is the raw device reserved area size on your platform. Then use dd with parameter iseek=xxxx to copy your file from certain offset. Also you have to worry about the "length" of your data if there is "free" space between end of Oracle blocks and end of raw device - the empty part must be cut off (using blocks parameter in dd for example). In later OSes I think you don't even have a raw device reserved area anymore - but for Compaq TRU64 it used to be 64k when I dealt with it few years ago.
