Some managers don't like Good DBAs. They don't like DBA's being independant (since they have good
IQ and are able to solve the problems themselves , and , in the process - they gain the respect of
others) - the Manager feels threatened / feels insecure. Add to this a manager who is not self confident.
In the final analysis, the DBA needs to ask himself "Can i sell myself in the market today?" and prepare
for that.
