Wanted a way to connect from within the Oracle DB. Cannot write the application to move data the way you have indicated. I did try Generic connectivity. Am getting the error while accessing the link as:
ORA-2854: error diagnosed by Net8 when connecting to an agent NCRO: Failed to make RSLV connection ORA-02063: Preceding 2 lines from <TheDBLinkName> have sent a mail with the details of what I tried to the list 2 days back. Thanks, ShivaM -----Original Message----- Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2003 12:44 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L I have. It works. The steps: 1. Connect to Oracle. 2. Connect to SQL Server. 3. Transfer data, maybe using Perl. Or Python (this is for my buddy Steve Orr). 4. If it doesn't work, contact a call center in India. They know everything. Generic connectivity is, indeed, supported on Linux. I'll bet it's supported at Russel Athletic too. Now, here's the hard part. Try to get up the balls to try it yourself. I know it's hard, but I'll bet you can do it. If you can't, spend some time watching old reruns of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. --Walt (I've fallen down and can't get up) Weaver Bozeman, Montana On behalf of absolutely nobody but myself. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Shiva Maran > Sent: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 11:39 PM > To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L > Subject: Linking to a SQL Server > > > Hi All, > > Has any of you had an exprience in accessing SQL Server > data from Oracle database.
