update <stattab> set c5 = upper('newschemaname'); befor importing the stats into the new schema. I do it all the time.
Beware though if there are differences between the schemas. It's OK if a table in the new schema has columns that the old schema does not have. That columns just would not have statistics after the import. If a table in old schema, however, has more columns, and therefore the exported statistics, than the table in the new schema, the import errors out. You will need to delete the rows for the superfluous columns from the stattab table before being able to import.
