Thanks for your help David,

I have 2 queries that return numerous columns.  Due to the way that
the application I am working with functions it would be useful to
execute Query A under some conditions or Query B under others.

I realise that this should normally be handled by the application
layer but it would have been useful to do this anyway.

I have found an alternate approach now so problem solved - thanks
