You cannot do this via db link. There are several 3rd party tools that will do what you want(toad, pl/sql developer, I think sql developer from oracle), OWB will do what you want, you could write a vba script that would update an oracle database from within the workbook . You could also export the worksheets to csv files and use them as external tables.
None of these solutions is particularly attractive to be honest. You can search this forum to see what other suggestions have been made (this is a common question) Rob Kamran Haider wrote: > Link data currently in MS excel but dont want to import through sql > loader.Actually my user put entries in MS excell and i want to design > some querries for them in Oracle ,they have no idea about oracle .So > just copy past my querries and get desired reslults. > > I want to know this by db link . > > > On 7/29/09, *rob wolfe* <rob.wo...@oraclegeeks.com > <mailto:rob.wo...@oraclegeeks.com>> wrote: > > > Do you mean that you want to query data from an Oracle database > and (for > instance) create a pivot table in excel? > or > Do you mean that you want to import data that is currently in an Excel > workbook into an oracle database? > > Two very different questions with very different answers > > Rob > > Kamran Haider wrote: > > I am oracle 9i user .I want to link Ms excle work book in oracle > database. > > > > Please send me some step by step help .I new user . > > > > > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle PL/SQL" group.
