Title: Cobol Architect Location: Everett, MA Duration: 1 year Minimum 8- 10 years experience required. S/He must have knowledge of organization's total computing environment, including existing technology infrastructure, all major IT department roles, responsibilities, daily operations and business impact. S/He must be knowledgeable about all major toolkits for a specific platform and have previously evaluated and recommended delivery tools and platforms. S/He must also be experienced in developing, maintaining and utilizing information repositories and have prior experience defining operational standards for managing information assets. S/He must be an effective oral and written communicator who is experienced in preparing and delivering informational and decision-seeking presentations to individuals or groups, internally or externally. S/He must be knowledgeable in all phases of a consulting relationship * The incumbent is responsible for formulating and defining system design documents based on both user needs and a good understanding of the application, business, operational and/or industry requirements. S/He develops technical specifications for medium to large sized projects. S/He will have the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks. S/he works with internal business groups and is involved in designing, developing, testing and implementing application functionality, often leading these efforts. S/he can perform these functions independently and often provides technical and analytical guidance to lesser-experienced systems analysts / Developers. S/He must have in-depth knowledge of accounting systems and extensive experience developing mainframe applications.
