Locations: Alpharetta, GA with travel to Rockford, IL. Could also be based
in Pleasanton, CA.
Duration: 12 months
Provide technical consulting and support to enable the seamless migration of
data from the Pleasanton, CA data center to the Alpharetta, GA data center.
" Is the resident expert for all WAN and LAN related
technologies.
" Develops action plans to address performance issues
identified in the customer's network.
" Coordinates with cross functional groups to facilitate the
migration of infrastructure and applications, focusing on ensuring the
Network infrastructure is in place in alignment with the Master migration
schedule.
" Addresses any quality and performance issues that arise
during the project, working across the organization to identify and solve
root cause of problems.
" Analyze the performance of the servers in the legacy
environment and compare to the performance in the new, virtualized
environment. Develop a template and methodology to collect and report on
the information in a consistent manner.
" Attend project meetings and participate as necessary to
achieve the project plan to either build or move the servers and
applications.
The project team will be responsible for developing
migration plans for every server currently in the customer environment. The
plans and deliverables include:
- Plan and implement Linux-NFS storage solution and work with
project team to migrate approximately 1TB of data off Celera device.
- Work with project team to setup PolyServe solution with an
EVA storage array, allowing for approximately 16 snaps of the data to be
available to users at any time.
- A Capacity Report that maps Volume Groups, Arrays, Switches,
Servers and Applications. Maintained and provided to HP on a weekly basis
- A storage-backup focused action plan in alignment with the
Master migration schedule. This includes a work breakdown structure of
steps that need to be taken to provision SAN, setup the transfer process
(e.g. Continuous Access), validate performance, decommission old storage,
and coordinate the physical transfer of storage to the new infrastructure.
- A report that provides and analysis of each planned move,
with a gap analysis and technical recommendation.
- Acceptance Test document prior to releasing the server to
production.
- Design documents for any non-standard configuration, or any
solution that is not already documented.
- Update of Configuration Management Database.
- Training materials for any non-standard or new solution
design. This includes, but is not limited to, the recovery procedures for
restoring an image using a Virtual Consolidated Backup solution.
-Weekly written status reports that summarize:
(a) The Services (including all tasks and activities) performed
and effort (hours) expended by Supplier for that time period.
(b) A forecast of activities proposed to be completed by Supplier
during future weeks, and the estimated effort (number of hours) to complete
those activities. These projections for future week's activities and effort
will be for informational purposes only and will not be binding.
(c) Any issues that need to be addressed.
