*Location: Dallas, TX* *Duration: 6-10 Months* *Rate: $40 per Hr* *DESCRIPTION:* Contract for a Strong FoxPro Developer! Our client is seeking a *Visual FoxPro Developer for a 6-10 month contract*! Interested candidates must have 5+ years of overall Information Technology experience, *with 3+ years of Visual FoxPro 6.0 or greater experience.* Also seeking candidates with *3+ years of SQL Server 2000 (Transact SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc.); 2+ years of XML experience; 3+ years of experience in application development using structured analysis and design techniques;* experience with *System Integration*. *Responsibilities will include:* Enhance and maintain enterprise application written using FoxPro; Research, document, and implement program requirements and specifications; Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications; Oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution; Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging; Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, programmers, and other software engineers to resolve any defects in products or company systems; Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed; Recommend, schedule, and perform application improvements and upgrades. The job requires someone with exceptional analytical skills (job is 50% analysis, 50% coding). Also, the selected candidates must have the ability to quickly understand existing code base and make modifications as necessary, and have experience developing functional specifications and requirements documents. It is also important that candidates have a strong understanding of effective program change control.
