*Unix Administrator*** Plano, TX Duration: Feb 2010 - Work closely with the PepsiCo engineering and infrastructure team to help build Unix expertise - Define and implement verification and validation practices, standards and processes in the Unix environments. - Leverage existing processes and tools while identifying and improving gaps to the EDI application. - Maintain operations, gather metrics, monitor systems and troubleshoot problems to ensure the integrity of production systems. Provide support to teams and applications that provide for the exchange of business data via the suite of B2B communication tools which service the Electronic Commerce Gateway environment. Through the use of a hands-on approach, support infrastructure applications and team initiatives. Maintain operations, gather metrics, monitor systems and troubleshoot problems to ensure the integrity of production systems in order to meet established standards. Plan and execute software upgrades, script enhancements and make recommendations targeted to enhance the efficiency, security and stability of the gateway environment. Participate in the Incident Management and Problem Management processes as a resolver accountable for root cause analysis, resolution and reporting. Ensure that all production changes are processed according to Change Management policies and procedures. - UNIX admin - Network architecture and troubleshooting - HTML - UNIX Scripting - Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT Production Support role - Required GIS Sterling skills and experience *Required:*** EDI FTP UNIX - Broad B2B application background with some experience desired on TIBCO products, Oracle, SQL, MQ, Cyclone AS2, Apache, GXS, PGP, FTP, Peregrine, HP Openview and GIS Sterling Commerce experience would be a great asset. - Familiarity with Java - JavaScript J2EE (JDBC, RMI, EJB, JNDI, JMS). - Sets priorities; quickly zeros in on the critical few and puts the trivial many aside; can juggle numerous tasks and priorities while maintaining productive flow of work; is flexible and adaptable - Communicates clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect, including ongoing issues and infrastructure; Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation. Candidate should be proficient in Unix (HP, AIX) and Unix scripting (awk/sed/ksh/perl). - GIS experience would be a big plus. Qualifying Questions 1. What is process data inside GIS? 2.
