*Location:* Louisville, KY *Job Description:* The Distributed Developer / Lead will have approximately *10 years of experience.* *Responsibilities include: * - Lead a team of *approximately 5-15 members* - Lead team to meet milestones and deliverables as defined in the team project plan - Provide technical leadership to the team in design, implementation and deployment - Facilitate design and development working sessions - Transfer design and leadership skills to client personnel - Collaborate with the Program Architecture Team to make technical decisions - Proactively identify and resolve technical barriers to avoid scope, schedule and quality impacts - Ensure the adoption and application of technical best practices in design and development - Manage unit testing - Transform business requirements, use case requirements and technical specifications into detailed design - Construct code to achieve requested software design functionality based on established development - standards - Perform build and unit, peer testing to identify and document issues/defects and support issue resolution - until closure - Ensure source code integrity by maintaining version control and archiving of development code and - supporting artifacts - Develop communication materials for design/code reviews and working sessions *Required Skills * - Good exposure to mainframe technologies - Extensive experience in code management and version control - Knowledge and understanding of project management tools - At least 2 years of Lead experience - Understanding of the business enterprise and strategic goals - Critical thinking and decision making skills - Result oriented and self starter - Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills · Experience with one of the following application servers: Web Sphere, Web Logic · Experience *in Hibernate, Eclipse, BPM/Workflow, and XML*processing is a plus as well as a firm grasp of architecture using the required tools/languages. · Experience gathering user requirements, writing design documents, participating in JAD sessions and writing/executing unit and system tests · Experience in *Java, JavaScript, J2EE, JDBC, JSP, EJB, JMS, and Web Services* · Experience in *SOA and multi-application / cross-platform integration* · Experience in *SQL, Stored Procedures, and SSIS Packages* (Data Transformation) · Experience in frameworks like *Struts and Spring* · Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills · Experience in Property and Casualty insurance · Strong sense of ownership and commitment · Undergraduate degree required.
