Title: Oracle DBA
Duration: Long Term
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Rate: $50/hr
Position Summary -The Database Administrator position is responsible for
installing, configuring and maintaining, implementing security standards for
database architecture, backups and recovery, and database performance tuning
for Oracle and SQL databases.

Designs and implements integrated data and process models, process flows, and
logical database designs, and transforms logical designs into physical designs.
2.

Designs, tests, implements, maintains and controls the FNG's databases across
multiple platforms, technologies and computing environments.
3.
10%
Develops and maintains the department's documentation standards
and development process guidelines and tools. Provides data element naming
consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries
are maintained across multiple computing environments.
4.
20%
Formulate/ define system scope, objectives and database architecture based on
user needs
5.
20%
Conducts performance and tuning reviews for improvements to databases.

Qualification Requirements - To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements
listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required
to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an IT or business-related area.
Experience with the following:
· Oracle 10G with 11G
· Oracle BPEL Administration
· RMAN & Backup and recovery procedures
· Oracle standard data import/ export methods
· OS Level Scripting (unix and windows)
· Oracle Patch Administration
· SQL Plus
· Oracle Enterprise Manager with Management Server
· Sqlplus PL/SQL
· DataGuard
· Experience with Large databases
· Partitioning
· Performance Tuning
* Experience with Oracle database security framework
* Excellent database performance tuning skills and experience
* Experience with high availability database solutions and architecture
* Strong Windows Skills
* Knowledge of configurations across varied Operating Systems (Linux, Solaris,
HP UX and/or Windows 2000/NT) preferred.
* Daily monitoring and maintenance of database servers.
* Perform back up, file replications and script management for servers.
* Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including patch
management services.
* Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP) and database access
methods (JDBC, ODBC, etc.)
Language / Communication:
Good verbal, written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, as
well as good interpersonal skills are required.
Mathematical / Reasoning Skills:
Ability to manage multiple projects, and strong analytical skills.
Computer Skills:
Familiarity with PC and MS Office software. Proficient in the use of MS
Project. Experience working in a Unix or Windows environment.
Other Skills & Abilities Required:
Good organizational skills and attention to detail are required. Demonstrated
skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships is
necessary. The ability to multitask and work effectively under changing
priorities and daily time constraints is required.
Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job. Occasionally = one-third or less; Frequently = one-third
to two-thirds; Regularly = more than two-thirds time spent.
