Title: QA Analyst

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
The successful candidate for this role will be primarily responsible for
developing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for a variety
of release types (small modifications to large projects, low-risk to
high-impact system modifications) on the MDS system ensuring that business
and technical requirements are being met.
The daily responsibilities of this position are to:
** Ensure all requirements are testable and covered in test cases.
** Ensure all issues are communicated and test risks are managed.
** Execute test plans, document defects, and report results to Testing
Coordinator.
** Support Project Managers in executing and coordinating testing across
multiple platforms and systems to assure critical applications are delivered
with no critical defects.
** Capture and maintain Quality Assurance documentation for compliance
requirements.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring that all
release candidate packages are complete and approved by all applicable
stakeholders.
The candidate will be expected to partner with our MDS development,
management, and technical staff to continuously improve our quality
assurance testing methodologies, systems, processes, and standards and to
suggest strategies for improving the efficiency and output quality of each
phase of software development life cycle.
The primary skill set required is experience with QA testing methodologies
and tools. Technical knowledge in Unix and Databases will also be crucial.
Working knowledge of Perl, C++, and to a lesser extent Java will be useful
but not required. Experience in structured software development teams and
with release management is a major plus.

2+ Years IT or business background in similar role.
Understanding of basic QA concepts and testing/development techniques for
database systems.
Successful track record working under pressure and to deadlines
Technical knowledge of major front and back office systems
Experience with Reference Data Applications
Experience working with multi-regional teams
TECHINICAL/BUSINESS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

- 2+ years of QA experience
- UNIX
- Good working knowledge of Oracle or Sybase SQL, good understanding of
RDBMS.
- Basic knowledge of design and development for unix based client/server
applications
- Experience working in a structured software delivery group.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools such as QuickTest Pro or LoadRunner
- C++, Perl, or Java programming expereince
- Experience with Pub/Sub applications / EMS
- Experience with scheduling tools (AutoSys, Control-M)
- Strong background on Sybase database software
- Work experience in Solaris environment
