Title: Unix Engineer with SAS Duration: 6 months Location: Herndon, VA *Description *Require a contractor to fill the position of 24x7 Operations Support for CAP Financial Reporting applications running on Unix/SAS architecture. The primary responsibility will be to provide shift support during the 9-Day Month End processing. Outside of Month End, the contractor is expected to support Development/Test teams, maintain and resolve Infrastructure issues, develop and maintain Operational scripts /software as needed. *Other Requirements:* Strong UNIX knowledge. Experience in Linux/Solaris/AIX. Strong experience supporting SAS based applications. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SAS error messages is a must. Ability to write SAS code is a huge plus. Specific SAS areas preferred are STAT, GRAPH, ORACLE Working experience in UNIX shell and Perl scripting. Carry a pager and respond to it in a timely manner. Provide off-hour support as needed. Knowledge of web services. HTTP, XML, Apache, JBoss, and Weblogic is a plus. Knowledge of ETL products. AbInitio is a plus. Sufficient knowledge of SQL commands. Experience in system monitoring tools. Develop and follow up Standard Operational Procedures. Well developed written and verbal communication skills. A team player. Need to work closely with other team members. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or 6 years + of IT related working experience. Working knowledge in Oracle database and applications. Experience in system monitoring tools. Experience in creating automation tools.
