Requirements A Master's degree, Oracle Certification and a minimum of five years experience in Oracle database administration in the biopharmaceutical industry. Duties and Responsibilities Ensure availability and performance of the databases that support the system. Ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. Monitor proactively the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. Providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. Improve and maintain the databases to include rollout and upgrades. Implement and release database changes as submitted by the development team Requirements: 5 years’ directly-related experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry Using Oracle third-party administration tools (e.g. TOAD, DBArtisan) Oracle data-modeling software (e.g. ERWIN, ERStudio) Master’s Degree in related discipline Proven Oracle Database Administration experience using versions Oracle 9i and 10G Extensive programming background in SQL, PL/SQL and other scripting languages Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
