Working with Java technology, Search (Endeca), Oracle, development tools to build and maintain different components / subsystems of Search and Browse system. o Help in every stage of the project lifecycle -- gather requirements, design, develop, test and support the application . Recommend engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, code reviews . Collaborate, communicate with different teams, and triage technical issues across teams. Works independently and with supervisory review on complex tasks. Position Description o Develops Innovation strategies, processes, and best practices Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects Ensures business needs are being met Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design Leads the work of other small groups of six to ten engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned Engineering projects Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates Supports business objectives Troubleshoots business and production issues Utilizes industry research to improve Wal-Mart's technology environment Minimum Qualifications o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years experience building scalable ecommerce applications or mobile software o Additional Preferred Qualifications o 5 years of experience developing and implementing UI/Front-end for high volume web applications. o Experience with JavaScript libraries / mvc frameworks such as JQuery, Backbone, and Angular. o Experience with templating libraries like Mustache, Handlebars or Underscore. o Experience with data-driven web development, including strong knowledge of JSON, AJAX, and XML Experience in Cross-browser development and troubleshooting Experience in Java programming and REST API is required Extensive use of APIs and a strong understanding of HTTP and REST architecture Experience in developing secure web applications and knowledge of application vulnerabilities such as Cross Site Scripting (XSS), Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) etc. o Experience in developing and managing high trafficked web applications. o Experience in converting concepts into prototypes.
