*JOB TITLE: AIX ADMIN * * PRIMARY SKILLS: AIX LOCATION: DEARBORN, MI DURATION: 6+ MONTHS* *Description:* Key responsibilities: . •Meeting with IT architects and application owners to review new or changed application architectures . •Creating build instructions and hardware bill of materials based on proposed architecture documents . •Ensuring applications can be supported by the operations team . •Analyzing performance data for capacity planning and problem resolution . •Addressing security and controls . •Working with SMEs from Network Engineering and Storage Engineering . •Developing application migration plans (end of lease server migrations, OS migrations) . Manage the IT AIX service . •Manage AIX hardware lifecycle . Provide L3 support for Linux/AIX . •Define and manage AIX migrations Position Qualifications: . •Performs at an extremely high level of technical competence and maturity. . •Ability to communicate effectively with application developers. . •Ability to be a self-starter, looking for improvements to processes and business offerings. . Ability to clearly explain technical issues in a non-technical fashion . •Ability to create complex, technical documentation for operational use . •Ability to handle multiple complex projects at one time. Skills Required: Technical Qualifications: . •5+ years of experience with Linux and AIX •2+ years of experience with Java, Javascript, HTML, Perl . •Experience working in a server operations role for a large heterogeneous environment . General infrastructure knowledge, e.g., SAN, NAS, network, database, and server hardware Good Communication Skills and ability to utilize desktop tools to accelerate communications (Wikis, IM, WebEx, etc.) •Knowledge of Linux/AIX security best practices Technical Qualifications: •5+ years of experience with Linux and AIX . 2+ years of experience with Java, Javascript, HTML, Perl . •Experience working in a server operations role for a large heterogeneous environment . •General infrastructure knowledge, e.g., SAN, NAS, network, database, and server hardware . •Good Communication Skills and ability to utilize desktop tools to accelerate communications (Wikis, IM, WebEx, etc.) .
