*Role*: Backup and Storage Architect *Work Location*: RI / NJ / AZ / OH / TX *Duration*: 6 Months *Assignment start date*: Immediately *Rate: *$55/hr CTC *Total experience in required skill: *8-10 years *Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills*: · Design, set best practices, establish standards and provide solutions on primary platforms for backup and archive, including Centera, Data Domain, Avamar, Isilon, tape and virtual tape products, and TSM. In-depth, hands-on knowledge of the same. · Technical knowledge of general SAN/NAS technologies and topologies · Familiarity with multiple operating systems such as AIX, Linux, Windows, and backup/recovery strategies and best practices · Evaluate competing products/solutions against one another · Identify gaps in backup/archive solution set, and perform POC’s for new products and solutions to address those gaps. · Identify opportunities to improve performance, cost efficiency or reliability. · Interface with operational backup/recovery and provide top level, support and solutions for escalation or issues. · Develop and maintain architectural diagrams of enterprise hardware and software current and future state. · Collaborate and contribute backup/archive solutions with other architects and provide supporting documentation/detail as necessary. · Interface and maintain relationships with multiple hardware and software vendors. · Clearly communicate backup/archive solutions to other groups, both technical and upper management. · Develop and maintain backup/archive roadmap. · Support management initiatives and requests for information. · Perform presentations as necessary communicating any of the above as necessary, to large audiences.
